French in Hand is meant to be a solid introduction to the French language including information and examples about the rules and grammar of the language. Currently the app consists of 280 lessons. Each lesson is made up of two pages. The first page is a section of English text with a button to be play a recording of the text in a French translation. The second page has a text of the French recording, a literal translation of the French and a section of commentary about the French text. There is also another button to play the French recording. The first 200 recordings have all been made by a native of Marseilles. The next 80 lessons contain text and audio from the writings of Gustave Flaubert, Guy de Maupassant, Arthur Conan Doyle and Jules Verne
